Scaling With Confidence: A Full Technical Audit of StudyScope's Ten-Product EdTech Platform
Scaling With Confidence: A Technical Audit of StudyScope
StudyScope is a fast-growing edtech company with an unusually broad product line: a consumer learning app, tools for tutors and for schools, a library of hundreds of interactive calculators, an arcade of educational games, and more. Ten connected products, all live in production, all built by its founder.
With real users on the platform and the next stage being scale, StudyScope wanted an expert read on the engineering before pushing further. They brought Aurelis in for a full technical audit: an independent, top-to-bottom review of every codebase, with one goal in mind — make sure the foundation was ready for what came next.
We reviewed all ten codebases, mapped how the platform fits together, and confirmed what StudyScope was hoping to hear: the core is strong and the platform is built to grow. Then we handed back a prioritized roadmap the team could act on right away.

At the center is a well-designed backend with a thoughtfully modeled data layer that captures the curriculum, practice, and assessment domain cleanly. Authentication is solid. The AI features track their own cost and rate-limit themselves. The building blocks are modern and well chosen. For a platform this broad, the architecture is impressively coherent.
Most early companies never ship a single product. StudyScope shipped ten, and built a central system thoughtful enough to tie them together. That reach is exactly why a technical audit made sense at this stage: to protect what was already working and get it ready to scale.
I built this platform myself, so before scaling I wanted experienced engineers to go through all of it and tell me where I stood. Aurelis reviewed everything and gave me a clear, honest picture: what was solid, and exactly what to do next to grow. I came away knowing my platform is on strong footing and with a plan I can actually follow.
StudyScope
A full technical audit, top to bottom
The engagement was independent and read-only. We reviewed StudyScope’s code without changing it, working across every layer of the platform: product and user experience, technical architecture, infrastructure and performance, code quality, multi-platform structure, scalability, and readiness for the next stage of growth. Each codebase got its own detailed report.
The headline was reassuring. The product vision is clear and the core architecture is sound. From there, our job was to find the highest-leverage moves: the work that would let StudyScope add users, add engineers, and add features with the least friction, sequenced into the right order.

We turned the review into a plan StudyScope could run with. A prioritized Now / Next / Later roadmap put first things first, with effort estimates the team could schedule directly. A four-phase path — shore up the foundation, consolidate, scale, then build on the platform — sequenced the longer-term work so each step delivers value on its own. A consolidation analysis showed where merging services would pay off and where to keep the boundaries that genuinely earn their place. And because a few calls were the founder’s to make, we pulled those into their own short list, clear of the engineering work.
All of it was packaged as a navigable report built for two audiences: an executive summary for the founder, and per-codebase detail for whoever picks up the work.
StudyScope came in with a strong, fast-growing platform and left with something just as valuable: a clear, sequenced plan to scale it with confidence. The foundation was already sound. Now the path forward is too.
Results
StudyScope’s ten-product edtech platform came through a full, independent technical audit with a strong core confirmed across all ten codebases. Aurelis delivered a prioritized Now / Next / Later roadmap, a four-phase scale plan, and a consolidation strategy — turning a fast, founder-built platform into a confident path to grow.
